Silk strips for perfect nail modelling
No nail salon is complete without silk strips. Finely woven silk for the fibreglass technique. The strips are also very suitable for repairing cracks in the natural nail or on an already modelled artificial nail. As a rule, the strip is cut into shape and filled with resin glue, then hardened by spraying over with the activator. However, silk strips can also be inserted into the gel to provide more stability.
Properties:
- white
- 3cm x 90cm

For repair:
- Cut the silk strips to size with fibreglass scissors
- Place the strip on the torn area
- Drip fibreglass and silk glue onto the strip until it is invisible
- allow to dry briefly
- continue with the modelling
To reinforce:
- when the entire surface is placed in the gel layer, the artificial nail is given more stability
For the modelling:
- Prepare the nail as usual
- Cut the silk strips into shape and stick to the nail
- Spread the fibreglass and silk glue on the nail
- spray with the activator from a distance of approx. 30 cm
- apply another layer of fibreglass and silk glue
- spray with the activator again
- Repeat the steps until the build-up is complete
- file into shape and polish or coat with sealing gel

Für kleine Reparaturen echt super, allerdings schwierig von Folie abzulösen

Können diese Streifen auch zur Reparatur eines Naturnagels verwendet werden, wenn danach nur mit Shellack lackiert wird? (Also keine Modellage und kein Aufbau)
Question from 5 Jul 2024Ja, das ist möglich. Die Stabilität wird dann wahrscheinlich nicht zu 100% wieder hergestellt sein, kann als Übergangslösung aber durchaus hilfreich sein.
